Required Training for Coaches & Volunteers

Before practices can begin, all coaches and volunteers are required to complete three mandatory online training courses as required by Little League. These requirements apply to everyone, regardless of position or prior experience.

Diamond Leader Training Program

Abuse Awareness Training Course

First Aid Awareness Training Course

Completion of all three courses is mandatory before participating in practices or team activities.

Before the Season Starts

  • Complete all required volunteer background checks includeing Live Scan. contact Chris Alanis for more infomration ( info@lathroplittleleague.org)

  • Finish mandatory Little League trainings:

    • Diamond Leader Training Program

    • Abuse Awareness Training

    • First Aid Awareness Training

  • Confirm your team roster once teams are announced

  • Review league rules, local rules, and division-specific guidelines

  • Introduce yourself to parents and players (email or Game Changer App)

  • Coordinate preferred practice days and times with Coachs Coordnator Corey Doyle ( corey.doyle@lathroplittleleague.org)

  • Review field locations, parking, and field rules

Equipment & Logistics

  • Pick up team equipment at Coaches Clininc on Febuary 14th at Chapions field between 8 and 11

  • Find a Team Parent and 2 or 3 Scorekeepers.

Communication

  • Keep parents informed of:

    • Schedule changes

    • Weather updates

    • Practice or game reminders

  • Respond to parent questions in a timely and respectful manner

Throughout the Season

  • Promote fun, teamwork, and player development

  • Ensure equal participation per league rules

  • Monitor player safety and sportsmanship

  • Report all injuries or incidents to the League Safety Officer promptly: Chris Alanis – chrisalanis21@gmail.com
