Volunteer Requirement Lathrop Little League
At Lathrop Little League, we are all volunteers. Every game played, every snack served, every field prepared happens because families step up and give their time. To keep our league strong and sustainable, starting in Spring 2026 all families will take part in our Volunteer Requirement Program.
Why a Volunteer Requirement?
For the last two years, a small group of parents and board members carried most of the work. That’s not sustainable and doesn’t reflect the spirit of community Little League is built on.
The volunteer program ensures every family contributes—so our players have the best possible baseball experience while keeping costs low for everyone.
How It Works
At registration, each family is charged a $50 volunteer deposit.
Families complete 10 volunteer points during the season to have the full deposit refunded.
This system is standard in Little Leagues across the country and allows us to keep things fair, affordable, and well-organized.
Earning Volunteer Points
Families can earn points in many ways:
Team Roles – Coach, Manager, Team Parent, Scorekeeper, Pitch Counter
Game Day Support – Snack Shack shifts, umpiring, field prep & cleanup
Events – Opening Day, Closing Ceremonies, fundraising events
Special Projects – Sharing skills or resources that benefit the league
